Get To Know Me

You can definitely call me Nat!

I was born in Hong Kong, and raised in Vancouver most of my life. As a result I gained appreciation for the different cultures and customs that I have gotten to know. A main commonality, between the two places I call home, is the hustle bustle mindset. Living in a fast-paced environment, we often let the moments slip by unnoticed. Photography is my way of slowing down that rushing mentality and capturing the connection and emotions between people.

Everyone has a story and it is my passion to connect, to discover, and to capture those stories. I understand it is not easy for everyone to feel comfortable and natural in front of the camera (I am the same way!). That's why I would love to get to know you, explore your favourite and meaningful places, and help turn them into timeless images for years to come.

I find peace near the water.

My place of serenity is by the water - whether it be by a calm lake or at a beach. I find it very soothing and it clears my mind. If you talk to me while we are walking by the seawall, I will probably forget that we even had a conversation.

I travel to experience life.

I live for the experiences in life. I enjoy the weekend getaways, the road trips along the Oregon Coast, and the long haul flights to the other side of the world. Travelling always gives me new experiences even if I visit the same place more than once. I often gain new perspectives and appreciation when I meet different people and learn about the different cultures. I can talk about my travel experiences all day long! Ask me about the time when someone vomited on me on my flight to Japan!

I love being outdoors.

People say greenery sharpens your focus and creativity; I find that is very true! Maybe that is why I love photographing couples in the outdoors so much. Whenever I am in nature, I feel a surge of joy. It also helps keep me grounded and connected to the world. The beauty of nature often reminds me of the goodness of God.

Me & Dogs.

I was fearful of dogs all my life because of a childhood trauma. I never thought I needed to or would overcome this fear, until recently my partner and I became new pawrents! I guess exposure therapy really works! I am happy to say… Feel free to bring your furbabies along for any photo sessions!
